The invited guests include the potential candidates that will run for the Town and District Officer positions – and other women intent to also run for the next parliamentary election. The programme will begin with introductions prior to Ms. Salesa sharing about her experience as well as encouraging the attendants on the role women play in the area of politics and decision-making positions.

There will also be an opportunity for the attendants to ask questions to the MPs as well as share their experiences and advice. This effort is the continuance of the International Women’s Day candidacy workshop to further empower women especially those who are running for local government this year.

The Women’s Division in collaboration with the International Women’s Day National Planning Committee (IWDNPC) invites you and any other media focal points you may wish to also acknowledge – to be a part of this meeting in its coverage and distribution of the information to the wider public.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 14 April, 2016, 12:00pm at the UN Joint Office upstairs Royco Building (where the New Zealand immigration is located on ground level). It is an open meeting for other women who also wish to participate and network.
