Tonga invited to 112th Canton Chinese Import Export Fair

28 July 2012. A five member delegation from the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Commerce were in Tonga last week to hold a Seminar on the 112th China Import and Export Fair, for local business people and interested Tongan counterparts.

Held at the Fa'onelua Convention Centre, special presentations were made to introduce the upcoming the Canton Fair, which is the largest biannual China trade fair of imported and exported Chinese made goods, to be held in GuangZhou.

The Fair is the most effective way to develop the business relationships that each entrepreneurs need to succeed in China, and the Chinese Embassy in Nuku'alofa are working together with the Government of Tonga's Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Tourism and the Tongan Chambers of Commerce to raise awareness among Tongan businesses of this rare opportunity.

It is expected that business people from all over the world will gather in Guangzhou, to exchange business information and development friendship and culminate their business networks.

The import and export fair will showcase a variety of products from electronics & household appliances, computer and communications products to vehicle & spare parts, bicycles, motorcycles, construction machinery to shoes, office supplies, food and other household items.
The Fair will be held on a three phase period from 15-19 October 2012 (Phase 1), 23-27 October 2012 (Phase 2) to 31 October - 4 November 2012 (Phase 3). The China Import and Export Fair (renowned Canton Fair) is held biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn, for the last 53 years since 1957.

More than 48 trading delegations from all over the world where more than 20,000 of China's best foreign trade corporations will take part in the Fair, including foreign trade companies, factories, scientific research institution, foreign invested enterprises and private enterprises.
